Question by hollynicole23: what is the significance of giving a watch as a gift?
i got my boyfriend a watch as a x-mas gift and a co-worker told me that it had some sort of meaning to it…not really sure. help!

SOme feel that it means a deeper commitment, as watches are not cheap

By tradition anything expensive that goes next to the skin is considered an Intimate gift. jewelry, watches, perfume, genuine silk boxer shorts etc.
(the cheap stuff and things like socks are exceptions)
intimate gifts are given when the relationship is more than casual or as a strong hint that you want the relationship to be more than casual.
But if its a very cheap watch then its just a gift with no hidden meanings
